I was given a bag of this delicious brand’s Crunchy Brownie granola for my birthday and I was so impressed!

I had to reach out to the business and purchase their other varieties: Lemon Lime and Cinnamon Roll.

I’ve been actively pursuing the Keto lifestyle for three years now, and I do miss my crunchy snacks!   In addition to dairy, my food sensitivities also include Stevia… so when I saw that she had a monk fruit sweetened variety (Cinnamon Roll), I was beyond excited!

There’s more than one reason to get excited about her low-carb granola though…

Not only does Abba-Gabba use mostly organically sourced ingredients, but this company also takes the time to pre-soak or “sprout” the nuts and seeds for each batch!  If you know about phytic acid, then you know it’s an anti-nutritive and that reducing it in nuts and seeds through sprouting could have an increase in health benefits for you and your family.   It’s part of a deeper traditional cooking method that I am passionate about.

Knowing about the ingredients wasn’t quite enough for me; I had dig a little deeper.

Who makes all this healthy deliciousness?  Abba-Gabba’s founder is Abigail Carpenter from Northern Minnesota; in addition to being a horse-lover with an entrepreneurial streak, she’s also a fan of the keto lifestyle.

Her family has helped her “every step of the way”, but without employees, she’s had to overcome a few obstacles alone.

One obstacle was pricing out an organic commercially available food product.

“I wanted to make my granola as healthy as possible and affordable, which was a challenge because organic ingredients are hard to find at reasonable prices.”

Currently, the bags are $12.99 a piece.  You may say, “That’s a lot for granola”, but I challenge you to go out and buy the raw ingredients, take the time to soak your seeds and nuts, formulate a recipe, and then bake it without spending a significant amount of money that would probably cost you more ounce for ounce!  In this author’s opinion, that’s a fair price point for what the consumer is receiving in return.

I LOVE the packaging…which she designed herself.  The recipes and formulations are also her own work.

Ms. Carpenter has high hopes for 2020 and adding to her product line.  Follow her on Instagram, Twitter, and FaceBook for those announcements and other great content!
