Introductions

Somewhere between knowing people were paying for kombucha classes at the health food store and reading a badly written article on cost-effective organic grocery purchases, it occurred to me that I actually had knowledge worth sharing.

Somewhere between losing Facebook friends over my incessant posting about food & agricultural issues and intimidating house guests with my kombucha brew system, it also occurred to me that I could target people who actually wanted help in their own journey to a greener, healthier lifestyle.

I hope you’re here because you’re curious; it’s the best frame of mind to be in.

My journey has taught me the benefits – no, the importance – of two things: mistakes and networking.

I would know much less if I always did it right the first time. I gave myself permission to make some mistakes… Over the past three years, my perception of ‘healthy’ vs. ‘unhealthy’ has changed drastically. Everything about the way I purchase, store, cook, and eat my food has been altered – multiple times!

If it weren’t for the friends who said “read this book” or “watch this documentary”, I would have never started on this journey of good food, conscious health, and getting back to the land.

If it weren’t for the countless bloggers, forum participants, and friendly chats from people more knowledgeable than myself, I’d be stuck at square one – knowing there is a disconnect between healthy choices and our social reality but not knowing how to differentiate them or fix the latter.

My goal for this blog is to get your curiosity piqued enough to question the status quo, think outside the box, and be surprised at what you can learn and do independently.
